As part of the Degree in Social Work, students are required to complete two assessed practice learning opportunities (placements). Degree students are required to be assessed by a qualified Practice Teacher. Learning Network West provide an award at (SCQF) level 10 The Professional Development Award in Practice Learning (ss) (PDAPL). This award will offer training and a professional qualification for those who wish to become a Practice Teacher. Applicants should hold a Degree in Social Work or an equivalent qualification to apply for this qualification.
Link Workers are individuals who could support Social Work students on a day to day basis where there is an off site practice teacher. This course is often a precursor to the PDAPL an opportunity for those interested in Practice teaching to dip their toe in the water.
